One of the best parts of being a photographer in Charleston SC is getting to follow families through different seasons of their lives. I first met this wonderful couple during their maternity session, then had the honor of photographing their newborn session when their baby boy arrived. Now, we meet up every year for a family photo session, it’s become a tradition I truly look forward to.

For this year’s session, they chose downtown Charleston as the backdrop. We were lucky with a beautiful, sunny day that lit up the cobblestone streets and pastel facades, creating that classic Charleston charm. The little one is now a toddler, full of energy and personality, it’s so special watching him grow year after year. We captured a mix of playful candid moments, sweet family portraits, and a few shots of just mom and dad (a rare treat!).

As a photographer Charleston families trust to document their milestones, sessions like these remind me how meaningful it is to create images that tell the story of connection and love, one year at a time.
