Yearly Family Tradition
Each year, I have the honor of capturing Zhanat and her family. And this year’s Kiawah Island family photoshoot was no exception. While we select different locations around Charleston each year, Kiawah Island’s beautiful background perfectly complemented the family’s dynamic energy this time around.
Zhanat, her husband, and their three children have been loyal clients, embracing the variety of backdrops Charleston has to offer. Kiawah Island, with its breathtaking beach and beautiful natural beauty, was the perfect choice for this year’s photoshoot. The setting sun gave us a magical light, ideal for capturing the joyful faces and tender moments shared by the family.
Golden Hour Magic
We timed our photoshoot for the golden hour, that short window before sunset known for its soft, warm lighting. As the children played along the shoreline, I snapped candid moments that encapsulated their carefree and joyful childhoods. Meanwhile, Zhanat and her husband enjoyed quiet, reflective moments together, which I carefully preserved in their portraits.
These annual photoshoots serve as more than just a means to document the family’s growth. They are a celebration of life’s milestones and the creation of cherished memories. With each passing year, I notice subtle changes in the children and witness the family’s bond growing stronger.
The choice of Kiawah Island this year not only provided a stunning backdrop but also enhanced each image, making this Kiawah Island family photoshoot a particularly memorable one.
A Privilege and a Tradition
As their photographer, it’s a privilege to be part of their yearly tradition, capturing the evolving story of Zhanat’s family. It’s incredibly rewarding to think that these photoshoots, whether on Kiawah Island or elsewhere, will be treasured for generations, serving as a beautiful reminder of their time spent together.
